THE WEAPON OF SILENCE PART 2

While Savarkar carried Tatya in his arms, he reminisced all those struggles which he had encountered while raising Tatya.  While Tatya was still unconscious, Savarkar was flowing down through his eyes.  A single silent evening had turned his life upside down.  In past 12 hours, Savarkar had once again become Sarkar Savarkar who used to tame wild Lions and rule the city of Mumbai.  His image of white ironed shirt and silky black pants with a Gandhi cap on head was once again illuminated.

 

The skies were pouring down, and the darkness had surrounded every corner of street.  Meanwhile, in a place called Dadar, few men were sitting and having tea in a tin house, more like a good stationary.  Among five men who sat there under candle light and considered each other`s eyes for a victory card in card game, one man stood near the window looking at the heavy downpour outside.  Slowly his eyes got wide and suddenly shouted

“Guns ready!!”

At this single command, everybody there took out their guns and aimed at the door, a gradually progressive sound of rapidly pacing footsteps became evident and after a while, a man banged the door and came running inside!

In that absolute silence in hall where everybody looked at each other`s face, one man came in front and asked in a strong voice.

“who is it?”

The whole silent room, echoed and with a thunder outside, this man who came running inside said

“he is back!!!”

“who is back, Shambhu?” enquired a loud voice

And Shambu knelt, pointed his finger towards window and said

“SARKAR SAVARKAR”

Everybody looked outside the window and then there was lightening for 10 seconds.  The eyes went wide, heart beats increased, and sweat drenched everyone in that freezing weather, chills ran down as they saw a man standing in the rain wearing kurta and pant, a child on the left shoulder and revolver in right hand.

Savarkar started walking towards the house as the others froze at his sight, and like a lion he entered the flat walked inside, he laid Tatya on the bed near the lamp and removed his wet cloths and covered him with the blanket, then he turned towards a rocking chair kept at a distance and slowly walked up till there, such that only his footsteps were heard.

Graciously the other members in room were stunned to see Sarkar Savarkar back in his old look, old den, old chair after an exile of 10 years.

Tatya was still unconscious, while a lady came from inside with a towel and started wiping Tatya, massaging his head, toes and arms.  While everyone was looking at the motherly affection, Savarkar attracted their attention with flicks of his thumb and middle finger.

“Where is it?” asked Savarkar in a low dusky voice.

What was Savarkar asking about?  And suddenly, after regaining his position and entering his kingdom again, what was it which he wanted from the past?

With no answer being given, all men in the room looked at Savarkar with amaze.

“What are you guys thinking so much? He is asking for the Diamond” the lady who completed the dressing of Tatya answered it with a bold tone.

 “Lakshmi! I think its time for dinner, set up the table, after a long time Sarkar and his gang will have dinner together.” Diverting the topic, Shiva, a Gang member added.

“Shiva!! I think you dint realise, you are not in command anymore!!” a deep voice roared and with its impact, everybody`s heart skipped a beat.

“Sarkar saheb, I think we can discuss the rest with dinner itself” said the lady.

Sarkar Savarkar walked towards the dining table and others followed.  No body sat down until the eyes of Savarkar asked them to sit.

After praying over the food, Savarkar opened his sharp eyes and said

“after Years, Tatya got targeted! You people think, that if you plot Pradeep before me and show it as a plan to kidnap him, and in virtue murder me, you guys are worst conspirators ever.  Pradeep and Amatya both are dead and the next person will be the one who has this plan in his mind”

“Sarkar Savarkar! If you want the diamond, you take the diamonds, but please don’t have this doubt of we are plotting your murder” said Shiva

“You can kill each one of us still, the diamond will be yours, if you get killed, then also the diamond will not be in our will, until you decide the heir.”

Savarkar was considering everyone`s eyes while they were trying to explain, and after everyone finished, he roared again.

“but there is someone here who supplied my information to Pradeep and planned this well.”

“Savarkar Saheb! We have absolutely no profit with your death! Then why will we kill you?” asked Shiva

To this Savarkar lowered his head and gently said: “oh no no…. obviously, you had profit!!”

“I……did not get you Sarkar” said Shiva.

 “let me explain your own plan to you! years back when I left the gang and turned to civil life I had few diamonds of my share.  I thought I will use them when the time comes, but one of you was restless, that person did not want to wait for my return, so that person planned a plot.  I was projected as a lonely scape goat who had no life to resist himself and then Pradeep was plotted against me.  I understood the same when I met Pradeep at the bus station and then I understood your game.” Said Savarkar in a dull husky voice. 

Others had started eating but Savarkar still looked at everyone with the same eagle`s vision.

“game what game?” shiva had a voice full of cough and surprisingly everyone were coughing.

“You guys very well know that I don’t have a marriage certificate, so once if I was dead, then u people can extract diamonds through the signature of my wife and by jutting Tatya as my son.  For the will says that apart from me only my wife can get the authority to the diamonds but my activities had to made me go underground so u guys waited till I was killed but when that did not happen you tried to plot Pradeep before me by targeting Tatya but all of you will die in few minutes and one person I will kill, right? Lakshmi?”

Lakshmi`s eyes grew wide and then she started to stare at others, white foam oozed of everybody`s mouth and everyone was getting the epileptic attack appearing as if the body is turning into a freezing fish.  But before Lakshmi could turn towards Savarkar,

“DISHOOM”

A loud sound among the stormy thunder was heard and next moment Lakshmi was on ground bleeding.  Sarkar Savarkar had cleared his dues, he went ahead to the safe and opened it with his special key, his face had a bright light on it.

He took that diamond out and kept it before his eyes, it was white and dazzling as the light from the lantern went through it.  He smiled and said:

“ZOHRAB!! I don’t know how many more sacrifices will you need?”

IS THIS THE END?? WHAT WAS THE STORY BEHIND THE DIAMONDS? WHO IS ZOHRAB?  IS THERE ANOTHER MYSTRY?
