PRISONER OF TIME

CHAPTER 2

Aditi opened the door and there stood a postman-“it`s a letter madam.” Surprised!!!

You should be…..even in the depth of an email era, people still believe in letters!!!!


The letter read-

‘ROHIT MATHUR,


32, B WING, RUSSIAN APARTMENT, MUMBAI-12.’


The letter was dispatched from Chennai, sender`s address was not there but it was addressed to Rohit-

Dear Sir,

With extreme sincerity and submission, I feel myself honored to express gratitude towards your contribution for the techno generation thesis. Your contribution is selected for Rotary award by Bangalore.

With extreme pleasure we invite you to Chennai for the valedictory function. Please be our guest for the evening of 30th November 2013 to be organized at lion`s club. Your expenses will be managed by the undersigned and lion`s club.

The letter was dispatched from Indian Institute of Science, Chennai and appreciated Rohit`s work. After reading the letter enlightened Rohit hugged Aditi and told her about the achievement, Aditi congratulated him and then happy, he left for his office.

Now, somewhere in Delhi, there lives Madhurika, she is a house wife, married to a middleclass businessman and has two kids, Shivam, aged 6 and Mithun, aged 4. On one fine Sunday morning, when she got up and went to kitchen, she saw a figure, perhaps it was her neighbor in the dark fidgeting something with her Post box.

“Postman!! Now…strange!” she muttered and saw the man run away. As soon as he left she came out with haste and saw a letter in her post box. The letter was addressed to her and was dispatched from Chennai. It read-

Dear Madam,

With extreme sincerity and submission, I feel myself honored to express gratitude to tell you that you win a gift hamper from the Chennai housing society for the social contribution in your society. You will be facilitated by Rotary award sponsored by Bangalore society.

With extreme pleasure we invite you to Chennai for the valedictory function. Please be our guest for the evening of 30th November 2013 to be organized at lion`s club. Your expenses will be managed by the undersigned and lion`s club. Your flight tickets are enclosed.

after reading the letter Madhurika was in a dilemma, now she knew that the letter was not delivered by postman, because no postman ever delivers this morning but what taunted her more that somebody might have put it in her box as he was out of town for few days, finding her door locked. And therefore she tried to forget the incident and was exited on winning an award, although this wasn`t the first time but still after a long time she had won an award.

Strange! Both Rohit and Madhurika had got the same letter but words changed. Why? B


OFTEN THE SILENCE IN NATURE IS INDICATION OF SOME HIDDEN STORM..... WAS THIS LETTER OF FACILITATION A TRAGEDY IN DISGUISE?? KEEP FOLLOWING
